Living and working at FawnCrest Vineyard and Winery  is a chosen lifestyle for the McNeil family. 

Sometimes it even snows in the Texas Hill Country.

Wayne and Patty McNeil broke ground for the vineyard in November, 1998.  The first vines were planted in April, 1999.  Our first harvest was in 2001.  Due to heavy rain in 2002 and 2004 plus a late freeze in 2003, our harvests have been below expectations.  As a result, we chose to import grapes to blend with our estate grown grapes.

A new French drain in 2005  has mitigated the risk from heavy rain.  Our 2005 harvest took place in Mid to late July.  Due to the days of sun and heat, the brix readings were a spectacular 23-24.

 

Vision:  To remain a small, family run business that produces quality wines at a reasonable price.

 

Mission:  By delivering wines made from quality estate grown and non-estate grown grapes.  We will bottle when the wine is ready rather than mass produce.
